We are seeking an:
Associate/Assistant General Counsel

Responsibilities:
  • Advising the Stanley Manne Children's Research Institute and Lurie Children's on wide-ranging research and intellectual-property issues related to the medical center and academic settings, including government-funded clinical trials, innovations development, intellectual property rights, research collaborations, technology transfer and identification/interpretation of applicable research regulatory oversight requirements.
  • Collaborating with research institute and medical center leadership to develop, refine, and implement policies, procedures, and best practices in accordance with applicable law.
  • Identifying and assessing legal risks and opportunities and providing support on legal issues involving research safety and environmental safety of the hospital and research facilities.

Credentials:
  • J.D. from an accredited law school admitted to practice law in Illinois or other U.S. jurisdiction eligible for admission in Illinois within 12 months required.
  • Five or more years of experience in an academic research institution, law firm, or in-house legal department, including the handling of research and intellectual property matters, and some background in the handling of regulatory, transactional, or corporate issues related to healthcare essential.
  • Experience with academic medical centers/research institutions, physician group practices, and/or healthcare delivery systems preferred.
